Therapy Dog

God has blessed me with a beautiful dog, named Suzy. She is a white Siberian Husky with bright blue eyes. When I hug her she feels so soft, that it’s hard for me to stop sometimes. I have taught her to say I love you (RiRuROO) in Scooby Doo language.
She is such a joy to be around that I thought we could share her with other people. People who are sick or those who are lonely. I am on a mission to transform Suzy into a therapy dog. The first thing we have to do is teach her basic obedience, how to sit, stay and come on command. Suzy is a free spirit, she does not like rules. So teaching her to obey my commands will be a great adventure and a challenge. In the coming days we are going to transform Suzy.
I am trying to train Suzy to sit. We give her a treat if she sits. It is coming very slow, but it's coming together. She is going to be a goob therapy dog. I did it again today it took me 20 times to say it before she would sit.

The Clean World Movement

I am the Director of my community for the Clean World Movement. One day while picking up trash along a nearby creek, I discovered something that upset me very much. I picked up a can out of the bottom of the creek, as I poured the water out of it, something was rattling on the inside. I tore open the can to get a closer look, inside I found a baby catfish that had grown just big enough that it could not get out of the can.
I found many cans that day, and set a lot of fish free, sadly some were already dead. Seeing how the litter effected the wildlife made me want to do something more to help. I asked my mom to search for groups we could get involved with. We found "PlantingPeace.org" and the The World Cleanup Movement.
My goals are to do my part and keep our community clean and to encourage others to help me. God created the earth for us to enjoy, she is our Mother, we should respect her at all times and keep her clean.
I love the water so my main focus is on the waterways in our community and I am planning a special trip in September to join others in one big beach cleanup. I hope to organize fun clean ups and use them as a chance to be with my friends and to get some great exercise.

The Butterfly Garden

I planted my butterfly garden on Monday 4/21/09. I read a book that has plans for all kinds of gardens that attract neat insects and birds. I decided to make one of my own. I chose a butterfly garden. My mom and I found a good spot in the yard that has alot of sunshine. We took many different seeds that would grow into beautiful flowers. Special flowers that only attract butterflies. They are: Phlox, Blackeyed Susan, Foxglove, Sunflower, Purple Cone-flower, and Forget-me-not. I am really excited and I can't wait until the first flower appears.
